We have to have this! I need a flexible recurring billing service... my products are billed annually and they differ in price each year. Thanks in advance - http://JosefDolls.com
It would be nice to have this work with authorize.net's Automatic Recurring Billing (ARB) service. I built something like this into a custom cart and the way that I did it, it would send the information and amount to ARB and then the cart would flag the order as a recurring order. ARB would fire that day and bill the customer. If there was an error then it would be sent to the client, if there was no error then they would need to manually set the order to Processing. Hopefully you would be able to do something a little less hands on, but hopefully that helps a bit :)
Ideally it would be nice to be able to set the # of instances to bill on a recurring basis instead of just indefinitely. I'd also like to see a multiple options i.e. weekly, monthly, annually, etc.
In addition the subscriptions should be able to tie into the customer groups. This could be used for Site Discount Memberships. (i.e. customer adds gold membership to the cart and receives 10% discount on current orders and all orders for the next year, month, quarter etc... Membership auto-rebills the following time interval. If card is declined at rebill then merchant & customer are email autoresponded, customer is given instructions to renew...) :-) ahhhh that sounds nice!!!
I can see that integration of Email Marketer to work to handle reminders and end of subscriptions dates aswell as monthly send outs, but dont want a user to download a product to purchase a subscription.

This could work even for donations. There are plenty of non-profit organizations looking for assistance of any kind.
